The CI Pro P3-LCR v2 is a two-way wall speaker for the front channels: to the 25 mm tweeter and the two 139 mm woofers it adds two passive radiators of that same diameter, for fuller bass from a shallow frame.
CI Pro P3-LCR v2: what is inside
The P3 takes the layout of the P1, a tweeter between two 139 mm woofers, and lengthens it with two passive radiators: the wall cut becomes 787 x 168 mm, while the depth required remains 98 mm. The result is bass extension of 66 Hz, an on-axis response of 86 Hz to 22 kHz and one more point of sensitivity, 93 dB in room. The amplifiers indicated run from 15 to 120 W. The CI Pro range is built in Canada.
Woofers and passive radiators share one construction: a light, rigid CARBON-X cone, an over-moulded ART surround and a die-cast aluminium basket shaped with finite element analysis. The ART surround is patented and, by Paradigm's account, is worth 3 dB more undistorted output than a traditional surround. The tweeter is the AL-MAC unit of the range, a compound of aluminium, magnesium and ceramic that is sturdy and barely resonant, with a PPA lens for phase and the RED profile against diffraction; the crossover point is 2.2 kHz.
The Shock-Mount fixing, shared with the CI Elite range, keeps the baskets mechanically apart from the frame, so structural resonances do not cloud the output. The heat sinks built into the baskets improve power handling and dynamics. For the installer there are recessed screw holes that guide the driver bit, and nickel-plated spring terminals that also suit banana plugs. The frameless grille is micro-perforated, paintable and fixed with neodymium magnets.
