Millenia LP Trio: three channels in one cabinet
The Millenia LP Trio covers the three front channels of a home cinema system with one object. It is intended for cases where space is short, or where the decor calls for one speaker rather than three: at 122 cm wide it matches most 55 inch televisions. The profile is 5.1 cm, and the cabinet can hang on the wall or sit on a shelf on its own supports, in which case depth rises to 9.7 cm.
Inside are nine drive units split across three independent channels, each of them two-way and sealed: three 25 mm S-PAL dome tweeters, damped and cooled with ferrofluid, and 114 mm midrange/bass units with a one-piece anodised cone, a 37 mm aluminium voice coil for high temperatures, a Nomex spider, a nitrile rubber surround, a neodymium magnet and a finned steel basket that sheds heat from the motor. The crossover operates at 2.8 kHz on the centre channel and at 2.7 kHz on the two outer ones.
Being a passive speaker, each channel is wired to its own low-profile push terminal and driven by an AV receiver or power amplifier: recommended power is 15 to 130 W and maximum input is 65 W, into an 8 ohm compatible load. Sensitivity is 92 dB in room. On-axis response runs from 150 Hz to 20 kHz within ±3 dB and bass extension stops at 125 Hz (DIN), so a subwoofer is the necessary complement.
