A five-driver, three-way floorstander sold as a pair: three 178 mm X-PAL woofers in a bass-reflex cabinet, a Truextent beryllium midrange and tweeter, and 93 dB in-room sensitivity.
Persona 5F: what is inside
In the Persona 5F the low end is handled by three 178 mm woofers with high-excursion X-PAL cones, overmoulded ART surrounds and 38 mm tandem voice coils. Above 450 Hz the 178 mm beryllium midrange takes over, driven by an Inverse Differential Drive neodymium motor, and from 2.4 kHz upwards the 25 mm beryllium dome. Both handovers use third-order filters.
The material that defines the series is pure Truextent beryllium foil. The production process controls its grain, which ends up very uniform: the diaphragm is stiffer and less dense than those made of common materials, which pushes the first resonances higher and lowers distortion. Beryllium has been used in audio since the 1970s; here it appears in the midrange as well as the tweeter, each with a perforated PPA lens ahead of the diaphragm.
On axis the 5F stays within ±2 dB between 45 Hz and 45 kHz and extends down to 23 Hz. Sensitivity is 93 dB in room and 90 dB anechoic, and the load suits 8 ohm amplifiers; suggested amplifier power runs between 15 and 500 W, with a 300 W maximum. The cabinet, built in Canada, measures 118.5 × 24.1 × 42.7 cm and weighs 43 kg. Midrange and woofers are fitted through the Shock-Mount isolation system.
