A three-way bass-reflex centre speaker with six drive units: a Truextent beryllium tweeter and 100 mm midrange flanked by four 178 mm X-PAL woofers. It is the centre for multichannel systems built around the Persona series.
Persona C: engineering and use
Persona C is a large centre speaker, intended to keep pace dynamically with the front speakers of the same series. The low end is spread over four 178 mm woofers with high-excursion X-PAL cones, overmoulded ART surrounds and 38 mm tandem voice coils. Voices and dialogue, on the other hand, go through a dedicated 100 mm midrange and a 25 mm dome, both in Truextent beryllium.
The midrange has a 25 mm high-temperature voice coil and works between 700 Hz and 2.5 kHz, with third-order filters on either side; above that the tweeter takes over, damped and cooled with ferrofluid. A perforated PPA lens sits ahead of both beryllium diaphragms to align phase. Midrange and woofers are fixed through the Shock-Mount isolation system. Using the same beryllium as the main speakers helps keep the tonal character consistent across the front stage.
On-axis response is within ±2 dB between 43 Hz and 45 kHz, extending to 24 Hz, and 30° off axis the tolerance is unchanged up to 20 kHz. Sensitivity is 93 dB in room (90 dB anechoic), the load suits 8 ohm amplifiers of 15 to 500 W, and maximum power input is 250 W. The cabinet is 26.3 cm tall, 91.4 cm wide and 41.5 cm deep and weighs 38 kg: it needs a sturdy shelf, since no stand is included.
