D212s: dedicated-cinema performance in a still manageable enclosure
Twin 300 mm push-pull drivers and 3000 W make the D212s the entry point to Perlisten's highest subwoofer architecture without reaching D215s dimensions.
It is for anyone building a serious private cinema while still balancing performance and placement. Compared with the D15s and D12s, the operating principle changes: the second driver does more than add radiating area, enabling the even-order distortion cancellation associated with push-pull operation.

A natural candidate for a private cinema
The D212s suits medium-to-large dedicated rooms where a single 12- or 15-inch driver might reach its limits sooner. It retains authority with high-dynamic-range soundtracks, yet its 420 mm baffle and lower height than the D215s allow more freedom behind an acoustically transparent screen or along the front wall. It is a design choice, not an accessory added afterwards.
Twin 12-inch drivers versus one 15-inch driver
The comparison with the D15s is not only about cone area. In the D212s, the opposed motors cancel part of the distortion and mechanical reaction generated by the enclosure. The D15s may be preferable for simplicity and weight; the D212s is intended for systems seeking output, composure and repeatability at high levels together.
Depth without sluggishness
A subwoofer of this mass must stop as convincingly as it accelerates. Acoustic suspension, rigid carbon diaphragms and amplifier control are directed towards avoiding overhang and boom. With music this means separating individual notes; in cinema it means distinguishing a short impact from a deep, sustained wave.
Calibration without repeating every feature
The D212s uses the D-Series digital platform described in full on the D215s: 48-bit DSP, 32-bit processing, PEQ with three memories, adjustable phase, RCA/XLR connectivity, app, touchscreen and trigger. The practical benefit here is the ability to store different settings for night viewing, music and full cinema dynamics.
Placement and structural load
At 68 kg it requires a stable base and enough space to reach the connections. Several positions should be measured before the final choice: moving the subwoofer can cure cancellations that equalisation cannot fully recover. The gloss finish makes a visual statement, although its proportions also allow installation in a properly ventilated technical wall.
D212s or D215s?
The larger model provides more displacement and operates with greater ease in very large rooms or across several seating rows. The D212s concentrates push-pull quality in a more manageable volume. For many high-end domestic cinemas it is the rational option, retaining the D Series' defining technology while leaving more freedom for placement or a second unit.
