R2ic: the 2-way ceiling speaker for Atmos, multiroom and flexible systems
The R2ic is the exception in the range: two ways, 6 ohms and an optional back box make it easier to drive and install where depth is limited.
It can become a cinema height channel, wide speaker, ceiling LCR or music point in kitchens and multiroom zones. It gives up the R3ic dedicated midrange and integral enclosure but retains a silk tweeter, HPF woofer and coverage designed to aim sound towards the useful area.

Why two ways and 6 ohms
The R2ic simplifies the DPC Array to one tweeter and hands the mid/lower range directly to the woofer. A nominal 6-ohm impedance, against 4 ohms for every other model in this lot, generally presents a friendlier load to multichannel amplifiers. Lower sensitivity still demands careful assessment of distance and level.
Accessible Atmos or distributed music
In a small home cinema it can complete the upper layer without R3ic cost. In multiroom systems, its circular form and angled coverage distribute music where a wall speaker would intrude. If a height channel must sustain high dynamics and full Reference continuity, the R3ic remains the superior choice.
Optional back box: benefit and responsibility
The R2ic operates as infinite baffle and does not integrate the aluminium enclosure common to the other architectural speakers. This reduces depth to 153.1 mm and weight to 5.4 kg, useful in shallow ceilings. Performance depends more on the cavity and isolation to the floor above is lower; consider the optional enclosure where repeatability or containment matters.
Certification and power need context
The manufacturer states THX Ultra while the price list adds Dominus; the copy retains the current official claim and records the discrepancy in Notes. Power also depends on use: up to 150 W with an 80 Hz high-pass filter and 100 W full range. These conditions describe the role better than one maximum figure.
