The R-Series chameleon: stereo monitor, LCR or surround with twin HPF woofers
Perlisten R5m is a 3-way R-Series monitor with a 26 mm silk DPC Array, two 165 mm HPF woofers and selectable bass-reflex or acoustic-suspension alignment.
R5m is the most adaptable Reference model: it can lead a two-channel system, form the heart of a 2.1 setup, operate as an LCR loudspeaker or serve as a high-performance surround. Its dual cabinet alignment and monitor format let it move between very different systems without changing tonal family.
Key features
- 3-way Reference R-Series monitor.
- DPC Array with three 26 mm silk domes.
- Two 165 mm HPF woofers.
- Bass-reflex or acoustic-suspension configuration.
- 89.2 dB sensitivity and 4-ohm nominal impedance.
- Typical in-room extension down to 37 Hz in bass reflex.
- Recommended amplifier power from 100 to 250 W RMS.
- THX Dominus and THX Ultra certification.
A genuinely multi-purpose monitor
R5m can be used on stands as a stereo loudspeaker, with a subwoofer in a 2.1 system, as an LCR channel or as a surround. That ability to change role is one of its defining qualities and makes it useful when the same R-Series voicing is required across channels with different physical formats.
Silk DPC Array and HPF bass
Mid and high frequencies use the three 26 mm silk domes of the DPC Array, while two 165 mm woofers use HPF diaphragms. This is the Reference formula derived from S-Series but using different materials, designed to preserve directivity control and dynamics without Beryllium and Textreme TPCD.
Reflex or acoustic suspension
In bass-reflex mode R5m reaches 40 Hz at -10 dB and about 37 Hz of typical in-room extension; in sealed form rated response is 47 Hz. The choice allows either greater extension or easier behaviour close to room boundaries.
Monitor format and installation
The cabinet measures 230 mm wide, 546 mm high and 336 mm deep, with a weight of 17.5 kg. It can sit on an optional stand or use the optional wall bracket, especially useful when the loudspeaker is deployed as an LCR or surround channel.
