R8s: a serious first subwoofer when every centimetre matters
The R8s brings Perlisten digital management to a 270 mm-wide enclosure for small rooms, focused systems and visually light installations.
It is for adding the first low octave to bookshelf speakers, compact sound systems or a small home cinema without introducing a bulky object. The manufacturer states 500 W while the price list states 600 W; it remains the R-Series entry point, with one 215 mm woofer.

A subwoofer that genuinely fits
At less than 30 cm wide it can sit beside furniture, between a desk and wall or in a living room where a 12-inch model would be disproportionate. A white finish helps in pale interiors. Compact size does not remove the need to test placement, but makes that process much easier without redesigning the room.
A considered starting point
The R8s suits a first 2.1 system or intimate home cinema. It allows the owner to learn what crossover frequency, phase and level change, beginning with a complete platform rather than a subwoofer with minimal adjustment. It is not intended to pressurise a large room; its purpose is to add foundation and relieve the main speakers.
When to choose the R10s
If the sofa is distant, floor-standing speakers are used or films are played loudly, the R10s provides more margin through its 250 mm driver and 750 W amplifier. The R8s is preferable when space matters more than output, listening is close and room gain supports extension. The right choice avoids both insufficient capacity and an unnecessarily dominant cabinet.
Technology above size
Processor, DSP, parametric equalisation, phase, RCA/XLR, display, app and trigger bring R-Series logic to the smallest model. Three presets can cover music, cinema and evening listening. Calibration should refine peaks and blending, not ask the driver for the energy of larger models.
