Perlisten S5t: Signature technology in a smaller tower
Three-way S-Series floorstander with DPC Array, two 180 mm Textreme TPCD woofers and a choice of vented or sealed operation.
S5t brings the S7t's Signature platform into a lower cabinet for rooms where the larger model would be excessive. It retains the Beryllium and Textreme TPCD DPC Array and two 180 mm woofers, balancing size, extension and output without stepping down to the materials used by the R-Series.
Key features
- Three-way system with bass reflex or acoustic suspension operation
- DPC Array with 28 mm Beryllium tweeter and dual 28 mm Textreme TPCD midrange domes
- Two 180 mm Textreme TPCD woofers
- 89.5 dB sensitivity and 4-ohm nominal, 3.0-ohm minimum impedance
- Recommended amplification from 100 to 300 W RMS
- THX Dominus and THX Ultra certifications
A Signature tower for smaller rooms
S5t is a more compact alternative to S7t, not a budget version. Two woofers instead of four and an 1119 mm-high cabinet make it easier to place in medium-sized rooms. Its design philosophy remains S-Series, with the same premium materials in the mid/high assembly and woofer diaphragms.
The transducers separate it from the R-Series
Compared with Reference towers, S5t keeps a 28 mm Beryllium tweeter, two 28 mm Textreme TPCD midrange domes and 180 mm TPCD woofers. R-Series models instead use 26 mm silk domes and 165 mm HPF woofers. S5t therefore brings Signature materials and directivity control to a more manageable format.
DPC Array with family-wide timbre consistency
The DPC Array controls mid and high-frequency dispersion through a waveguide lens. S5t uses the same principle and materials as larger Signature models, allowing it to match S-Series centres and surrounds without changing tonal character. That continuity benefits both stereo imaging and channel-to-channel movement in cinema systems.
Two woofers and a choice of vented or sealed bass
The two 180 mm Textreme TPCD woofers can operate as bass reflex or acoustic suspension. The -10 dB point is 24 Hz vented and 36 Hz sealed, while typical in-room extension is 20 and 23 Hz. The two alignments allow bass behaviour to be adapted to the room and to the use of a subwoofer.
High output without S7t dimensions
Sensitivity is 89.5 dB, impedance is 4 ohms nominal with a 3.0-ohm minimum, and recommended power is 100-300 W RMS. Perlisten states 114.3 dB peak output and 114.0 dB with distortion below 3% from 100 Hz to 20 kHz, making S5t suitable for energetic stereo and substantial cinema front channels.
THX Dominus and THX Ultra
S5t carries THX Dominus and THX Ultra certification. It can therefore work as a main stereo speaker or an LCR channel in high-performance cinema systems. The cabinet measures 240 x 1119 x 400 mm as W x H x D, weighs 43.2 kg and is offered in Piano Black and Piano White as standard.
