Signature centre-channel performance without compromise: S7t architecture for the most critical channel
Perlisten S7c is the flagship S-Series centre speaker, a 4-way acoustic-suspension design with Beryllium/Textreme TPCD DPC Array and four 180 mm Textreme TPCD woofers.
S7c brings the same driver complement as the flagship S7t to the centre channel. It is designed for large cinema rooms where dialogue, dynamics and tonal continuity must remain stable at high levels, without reducing materials or capability simply because the loudspeaker works in a horizontal role.
Key features
- Signature S-Series design with THX Dominus - LCR certification.
- 4-way acoustic-suspension architecture.
- DPC Array with 28 mm Beryllium tweeter and two 28 mm Textreme TPCD domes.
- Four 180 mm Textreme TPCD woofers.
- 92 dB sensitivity and 4-ohm nominal impedance.
- Frequency response extending to 38 Hz-37 kHz (-10 dB).
- Recommended amplifier power from 100 to 600 W RMS.
- Typical in-room bass extension down to 32 Hz.
DPC Array: directivity control at the heart of the system
The DPC Array combines a central Beryllium tweeter with two 28 mm Textreme TPCD midrange domes inside a waveguide engineered to control vertical and horizontal dispersion. The aim is more consistent response across different seats and close timbre matching with the other S-Series loudspeakers, particularly through the critical vocal range.
Beryllium and Textreme TPCD: Signature-level materials
The difference from Reference-series centre speakers is not simply output capability. S-Series uses Beryllium for the tweeter and Textreme TPCD for the midrange domes and four 180 mm woofers, rather than the silk domes and HPF cones used in R-Series. These choices target lower moving mass, faster response and lower distortion.
Four 180 mm woofers in a sealed enclosure
S7c uses four 180 mm Textreme TPCD woofers in an acoustic-suspension cabinet. The absence of reflex ports simplifies integration near a screen or inside purpose-built furniture and makes low-frequency behaviour more predictable, while typical in-room extension reaches 32 Hz.
A centre designed as a true LCR channel
With 92 dB sensitivity, a stated 117 dB peak capability and recommended amplifier power up to 600 W RMS, S7c is not conceived as a secondary support channel. It can serve as the centre in an S7t/S5t system or as a true LCR loudspeaker where all three front channels need equivalent dynamic capability.
THX Dominus for the largest rooms
THX Dominus - LCR certification places S7c in the most demanding THX performance class for home cinema. The design must preserve output, dispersion and distortion performance at substantial listening distances, matching its role in large dedicated cinema rooms.
Dimensions and installation
Official technical documentation gives a cabinet 960 mm wide, 240 mm high and 400 mm deep, with a weight of 33.5 kg. Its size and mass call for a genuinely load-rated support: this is not a centre speaker to place casually below a television, but a structural part of the front soundstage.
