Reserve R400: a larger centre channel
The single centre speaker has two 6.5" woofers and dual rear X-Ports.
The single Polk Audio Reserve R400 speaker is the centre channel for a more substantial Reserve home cinema front stage. Two 6.5" Turbine Cone woofers flank the 1" Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter. The cabinet measures 615 x 196.6 x 350 mm: check shelf depth and load capacity in particular, as it weighs 14.9 kg.
Unlike the sealed R300 and R350, the R400 has two rear X-Ports. Their resonators help control unwanted bass reflex resonances; allow space behind the speaker when installing it. This model is not intended for wall mounting.

When the centre can take more room
The R300 reduces size with two 5.25" woofers, while the R350 prioritises low height and L/C/R placement. The R400 uses two 6.5" drivers and a larger enclosure. Stated overall response is 36 Hz-50 kHz, with -3 dB limits of 48 Hz-39 kHz: useful figures when planning a system alongside a dedicated subwoofer.
Single five-way binding posts connect to the AV receiver centre channel. Position the cabinet with its tweeter facing the listeners rather than hiding it deep inside furniture. Hi-Res Audio certification accompanies a design suited to a multichannel system with Reserve floorstanders.
Cabinet depth matters here: measure the usable shelf all the way to the wall, and include the space needed for speaker cable and the two rear ports rather than relying on the front width alone.
