The 12" sub for a larger system
The single Signature Elite ES12 Subwoofer completes a stereo or home cinema system.
The single Polk Audio Signature Elite ES12 is the largest powered subwoofer of the ES8, ES10 and ES12 trio. Its forward-facing long-throw 12" mineral-filled polypropylene woofer works with built-in amplification and two Power Ports in a vented enclosure. It adds a dedicated low-frequency channel to a larger stereo or home cinema system.
The cabinet is approximately 36.3 cm wide, 48.3 cm high and 48.3 cm deep. Check floor space and routes for mains and signal cables. Connections are line-level: one RCA LFE input for an AV receiver or two stereo RCA inputs for a compatible source. It does not take power from passive speaker terminals.

The bass figure depends on measurement level
The response is 22-250 Hz at -3 dB and 18-350 Hz at -10 dB: 18 Hz is not the -3 dB response. The low-pass filter adjusts from 50 to 160 Hz and Time-Smart Phase Control changes phase in 45-degree steps. DSP and signal-sensing power-save mode complete the controls for integration with the main channels.
The ES8 prioritises a small cabinet with its 8" cone; the 10" ES10 sits between them. The ES12 needs more room and makes sense when the system and room justify a 12" woofer. Adjust level and phase from the listening position, ideally after setting the AV receiver crossover.
A sub of this size integrates best when its level does not overwhelm the main speakers. Check the balance with familiar music and film scenes, then fine-tune level and phase from the listening seat.
