Primare R35: MM/MC phono preamplifier with RCA and XLR outputs
R35 is the most advanced phono preamplifier made by Primare. It is the interface between the weak signal coming from an MM (moving-magnet) or MC (moving-coil) cartridge and the line inputs of the system, unbalanced RCA or balanced XLR. It is not a modular unit, yet it can be added to any system of the series for listening to vinyl records.
The design includes a fully isolated power supply, so that the most sensitive components work in an environment free of noise. Gain is adjustable and allows the signal of nearly all MM and MC cartridges to be amplified, including those with very low output; a wide set of input adjustments, covering capacitance and resistance, serves to match the load to the cartridge and to the system. A subsonic filter and trigger sockets, input and output, are also fitted. The standby button is set into the Primare logo on the fascia.
