This is the E1.2 with a switchable phono preamplifier built in: a ready-to-play belt-drive turntable with a factory-set Pick it MM E cartridge that plugs straight into any line input.
E1.2 Phono: the built-in phono stage
What sets it apart from the basic model is entirely the internal phono stage. With the preamp switched in, the E1.2 Phono delivers line level and connects to the Line or CD input of whatever amplifier you own, with no extra boxes. If you later move to an amplifier with a phono input, or to an outboard stage, you can bypass the internal one and take the cartridge signal direct. Otherwise the mechanics, arm and cartridge match the standard version.
The foundation is a solid plinth, CNC-milled and mounted on feet that decouple it from the supporting surface to cut the risk of acoustic feedback. The belt turns a glass-fibre-loaded ABS sub-platter carrying the 730 g die-cast aluminium platter, which is balanced after casting. Speed is changed by an electronic control, without moving the belt, and the stainless steel shaft turns in a bronze sleeve.
The aluminium arm has a gimbal pivot, play-free bearings and a wide counterweight set close to the pivot for better balance. It carries the Pick it MM E, a moving-magnet cartridge with a small neodymium generator and a conical stylus, adjusted at the factory together with the arm. An acrylic lid is part of the package, and assembly is done by hand in the Czech Republic.
