Bandpass subwoofer for ceiling installation with an 8" woofer
The Sonance BPS8 is a bandpass subwoofer built into the ceiling, with an 8" woofer and a grille opening of 8". It gives a system of built-in speakers the bass response of a large loudspeaker while leaving nothing but a grille on view.
Sound reaches the room through a bandpass hose joined to a bandpass connector, which is finished at the surface with either a Micro Trim or a Trimless grille. The Sonance list states that the BPS8 has to be fitted before the drywall goes up.

Installation
To work, the BPS8 needs the Sonance bandpass connector and a grille. Flush installations also call for a Sonance mounting platform, in the version for gypsum board or in the one for solid surfaces. The patented mounting platforms allow the grille to be levelled precisely.
Finishes and grilles
The finish at the surface can be Micro Trim or Trimless. In the fully flush solution without a frame, the look can be round or square, keeping visual impact to a minimum.
