True stereo from a compact speaker
Sonos Era 100 is a wireless bookshelf speaker with two angled tweeters, a mid-woofer and three class D amplifiers, with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, AirPlay 2 and a line input via adapter.
Era 100 is designed to bring stereo playback to a small cabinet: two separate tweeters handle the left and right channels and a mid-woofer takes care of voices and low frequencies. It fits on a bookshelf, a kitchen counter, a desk or a bedside table, and it is humidity resistant. Setup takes a few minutes in the Sonos app, once the speaker is plugged in and connected to the home Wi-Fi network.

Acoustic architecture
Each of the three drivers has its own class D amplifier, tuned to the acoustics of the cabinet. The two tweeters face the sides to widen the soundstage and deliver a crisp high-frequency response, while the mid-woofer reproduces the vocal range and supports the bass even at low volume. Bass and treble can be adjusted in the Sonos app to suit the room and the listener.
Connections and sources
On the network, Era 100 streams music from online services over Wi-Fi, without the interruptions caused by phone calls and notifications, and accepts AirPlay 2 from Apple devices. The Bluetooth button pairs a phone or tablet in a moment. The USB-C port works as an analogue input for a turntable or another source with the Line-In Adapter, and as a wired network port with the Combo Adapter: both are separate accessories.
Trueplay and controls
Trueplay measures the response of the room and corrects the speaker's equalisation: with Era 100 the tuning starts from the app and uses the built-in microphones, so it works with both iOS and Android. The same microphones are used for voice control, and a switch on the back disconnects them electrically when they are not wanted. The touch controls on the speaker handle playback, volume, track skipping and grouping with other Sonos products.
As a pair and in a home theatre
Two Era 100 speakers in the same room can be paired in stereo for a wider soundstage and a more defined listening position. The same pair can serve as rear channels in a surround system with the Ray, Beam and Arc Ultra soundbars or with the Amp amplifier. In a home with several Sonos products, each speaker can be grouped with the others to play the same music in more than one room.

Era 100 comes with a 2 metre power cable. The Line-In Adapter, the Combo Adapter, wall mounts and floor stands are sold separately.
