DB4S uses a different driver arrangement from DB1D, DB2D and DB3D.
The single Bowers & Wilkins DB4S is a sealed active subwoofer with one 250 mm Aerofoil driver and a 1000 W digital amplifier. Unlike the three dual-cone DB models, it uses a single woofer. It retains a Dynamic EQ preamplifier and app setup: the difference is in driver geometry rather than giving up digital controls.

System connections
Two XLR and two RCA sockets take audio, with two 12 V triggers and a 9-pin RS-232 port. Bluetooth LE is listed for app control, not as an audio streaming input. The DB4S page does not list a speaker-level input; ASW608 and ASW610 provide that connection for systems using amplifier binding posts.
Positioning one cone
The cabinet is 377 mm tall with feet, 360 mm wide and 368 mm deep, and weighs 26 kg. Consider the direction of its front driver and access for cabling when placing it. DB2D uses two opposed 250 mm cones and is taller and heavier: shared cone diameter does not make their dimensions or layouts interchangeable.
Response is specified as 10-350 Hz at -3 dB relative to 100 Hz, with an 8.5-500 Hz range at -6 dB. Room position and app adjustments remain part of setup. DB4S suits a system calling for one 250 mm woofer, digital controls and balanced or unbalanced line connections in a sealed enclosure. The 1000 W figure belongs to DB4S on its own page and should not be assumed for the twin-driver DB2D, even though both use 250 mm Aerofoil cones.
