Dual eight-inch in-wall bass for deep low frequencies without floor space
MK Sound IW28S is a passive in-wall subwoofer with dual 8-inch woofers, 28-200 Hz ±3 dB response and 95 mm mounting depth; it requires VA500.
IW28S transfers V Series subwoofer experience into a fully concealed cabinet. Its dual drivers are adapted to the demands of a very shallow volume and are mounted in contact with both front baffle and rear of the box to increase mechanical stability.

Design and drivers
Twin 8-inch woofers use very stiff paper-pulp cones with high internal damping. Aluminium shorting rings reduce voice-coil distortion at long excursion, while the ferrite magnet system dissipates heat to limit power compression.
Amplification and performance
IW28S is passive: amplification is provided by the dedicated VA500, delivering 500 W continuous into 4 ohms and 800 W peak. Separating electronics keeps controls and mains power in the rack, leaving only cabinet and drivers inside the wall.
System integration
Its 28-200 Hz response allows the system to reproduce LFE or extend the low end of in-wall speakers and satellites. The sealed structure and driver geometry are designed to preserve speed and control despite the restricted volume available within a wall.
Controls and connections
VA500 provides line-level input, pass-through, volume, phase, 60-200 Hz crossover and three Room Adaptation settings. The combination compensates for placement and integrates IW28S with the main system without requiring access to the in-wall cavity.
Construction and installation
The grille measures 622 x 312 mm, wall cut-out is 580 x 270 mm and mounting depth is 95 mm. Weight is 11 kg. The white metal grille is paintable so the visible element can match the surface while the acoustic enclosure remains concealed. The design remains consistent with the MK Sound satellite/subwoofer philosophy, separating deep bass from the monitor workload to reduce interference and preserve clarity through the mid and high frequencies.
