Active bass without a large tower
The single Monitor XT10 completes a stereo or home cinema system.
The single Polk Audio Monitor XT10 is a powered subwoofer with a forward-facing 10" woofer and Class D amplification. It adds bass to stereo speakers or a Monitor XT cinema system without asking the main speakers to handle every LFE effect.

The 10" option
It has RCA LFE and stereo line inputs, a 40-160 Hz adjustable low-pass filter and a 0/180° phase switch. Its bass reflex port faces downward; it needs mains power as well as signal cable.
Dimensions are 302 x 400 x 421 mm in width, height and depth order. The XT12 uses a 12" woofer, Class A/B amplification and also offers speaker-level terminals: practical differences to consider when choosing.
Use an AV receiver sub output for LFE. In stereo, the RCA inputs accept compatible line-level signals; adjust the controls for the room. The cabinet is 400 mm tall and needs a nearby power socket. At 421 mm deep, plan its position before connecting signal and mains power. The level control helps balance bass with the main speakers.
