Two 225-watt channels for high-level stereo and home cinema fronts
Anthem MCA225 GEN2 is a 2-channel stereo power amplifier rated at 225 W x 2 into 8 ohms, 400 W x 2 into 4 ohms and 600 W x 2 into 2 ohms, with RCA/XLR inputs and Advanced Load Monitoring.
Its two-channel configuration makes MCA225 GEN2 suitable both for a separate stereo system and for driving the front left and right loudspeakers in a home cinema with an external processor. Dual-mono construction, twin toroidal transformers and high-current capability retain the MCA GEN2 design approach in a format dedicated to only two channels.

Two channels for stereo and front speakers
MCA225 GEN2 concentrates its entire power section on two identical channels. In a stereo system it can be paired directly with a preamplifier; in home cinema it can instead drive the front L/R speakers while other power amplifiers handle centre, surround and height channels.
Power into 8, 4 and 2 ohms
Rated output rises from 225 W per channel into 8 ohms to 400 W into 4 ohms and 600 W into 2 ohms. This progression allows the amplifier to work with loudspeakers presenting demanding impedance loads while maintaining greater current reserve than the 8-ohm figure alone suggests.
Dual-mono and toroidal power supply
The dual-mono structure uses two toroidal transformers and keeps the two channels as independent as possible. MCA GEN2 also employs low-flux toroidal transformers, high-current bipolar output transistors and oversized heatsinks to limit noise and thermal stress.
Advanced Load Monitoring
Advanced Load Monitoring (ALM™) supervises internal temperature, current and voltage to protect the amplifier and loudspeakers under abnormal conditions. Intervention is reserved for extreme situations and unaffected channels can continue operating, with automatic recovery when parameters return to normal.
RCA, XLR and integration
RCA inputs allow connection to unbalanced preamplifiers and processors, while XLR provides a balanced signal path with compatible components. A 12V trigger and signal-sensing power-on simplify integration where the power amplifier needs to switch on together with the processor.
Pairing with AVM70 and AVM90
The finish and front-panel design are coordinated with AVM70 and AVM90. In an Anthem system, MCA225 GEN2 can therefore power the main front speakers and be combined with MCA325 or MCA525 to build the exact channel count required by the installation.
