Fifteen channels of A/V processing with no internal power amplification
Anthem AVM70 8K is a 15.2-channel A/V preamplifier/processor with HDMI 2.1 8K, RCA and balanced XLR pre-outs for every channel, ARC Genesis and two subwoofer outputs.
Unlike MRX A/V receivers, AVM70 contains no power-amplifier stages: it processes, switches and preamplifies signals while external amplifiers drive the loudspeakers. Its feature set includes 15.2 channels, 32-bit/768 kHz conversion, MM phono, streaming, Zone 2 and an 8K HDMI platform with three outputs.

15.2 processor, not an A/V receiver
AVM70 8K handles up to 15.2 channels but contains no power stages to drive loudspeakers directly. Every channel is available at preamplifier level on RCA and balanced XLR outputs, allowing dedicated external amplifiers to be selected according to channel count and required output.
HDMI 2.1 and 8K video
Seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and three outputs handle 8K signals, HDCP 2.3, HDR, BT2020 and CEC. The official platform also supports 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz; HDMI ARC/eARC means audio return from the display and is distinct from ARC Genesis room correction.
Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and immersive formats
Multichannel decoding includes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X together with Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Virtual:X and other formats. With 15.2 processing channels, the processor can manage extensive immersive layouts using separate power amplifiers.
ARC Genesis
ARC Genesis analyses system response in the room through the supplied professional microphone and applies corrective filters. The processor can store different profiles, allowing calibration to be adapted to different configurations, seats or listening modes.
Audio inputs, DAC and phono
Five digital inputs, two coaxial and three optical, one optical digital output and six analogue RCA inputs are joined by an MM phono input. The 32-bit/768 kHz Differential Output D/A converters and Quad Core DSP handle signal conversion and processing.
Streaming, Zone 2 and control
Bluetooth 4.2, AirPlay 2, Chromecast Audio, Spotify Connect, internet radio and Roon complete the network sources. Zone 2 Multiroom, WebBrowser IP control, RS-232, IR, iOS/Android app, OLED display, remote control and a toroidal transformer complete the platform.
