YPAO™, MusicCast and ESS DAC for a connected Hi-Fi system
R-N800A is a Yamaha stereo network receiver with ToP-ART, ESS SABRE ES9080Q DAC, YPAO™ R.S.C. calibration, USB DAC and MusicCast.
The receiver retains a traditional Hi-Fi structure while integrating network sources and acoustic correction. The analogue section delivers 100 W per channel into 8 ohms, the DAC handles high-resolution files and YPAO™ measures speaker behaviour in the room; vinyl, TV and computer can all enter the same system through dedicated connections.

ToP-ART and low impedance
ToP-ART combines a direct and symmetrical channel layout with a rigid chassis and low-impedance ground path. Heavy-gauge ground cables and screw connections at the power-stage output reduce losses, while anti-resonance feet dissipate some of the mechanical energy transmitted from the supporting surface.
ESS DAC and USB
The ESS SABRE ES9080Q converter operates up to 384 kHz/32-bit and is used for both digital and network sources. The USB-B input adopts asynchronous transmission with a dedicated clock and supports native DSD up to 11.2 MHz and PCM up to 384 kHz, allowing a computer to be connected directly.
YPAO™ R.S.C.
YPAO™ R.S.C. measures the system in the actual room and addresses reflections that can alter speaker response. Precision EQ completes the adjustment with finer intervention, bringing to a stereo receiver a calibration that considers not only the electronics but also the behaviour of the room.
MusicCast and streaming
MusicCast integrates streaming services, network files and multi-room audio and also allows sources connected to the receiver to be distributed to other compatible devices. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2 complement the wired network, while Roon Tested compatibility allows the component to be used in a verified Roon ecosystem.
Vinyl, TV and digital sources
The phono input connects a turntable, while two optical and two coaxial inputs handle televisions, players and other digital sources. Pre-out and subwoofer output broaden system configuration; the absence of HDMI means TV connection remains based on the optical audio input.
Pure Direct and terminals
Pure Direct allows the signal to bypass buffers, tone controls, loudness and balance when they are not required. The speaker terminals are machined from pure brass for secure tightening, completing a path Yamaha develops with particular attention to connection resistance and signal continuity.
