Streaming, YPAO™ and HDMI in a modern Hi-Fi network receiver
R-N1000A is a Yamaha stereo network receiver with ToP-ART amplification, ESS ES9080Q DAC, MusicCast, YPAO™ R.S.C., USB DAC and HDMI ARC connectivity.
The platform retains the layout of a two-channel Hi-Fi amplifier while integrating functions that would normally require several separate components. Network audio, streaming, television, computer, turntable and digital sources can all converge on the same unit, while YPAO™ measures the room and adapts the system to the actual speaker positions.

ToP-ART and power supply
ToP-ART construction arranges the left and right signal paths directly and symmetrically and uses a rigid structure to contain vibration. The transformer, capacitors and ground connections are selected to keep impedance low and supply current to the output stages without introducing unnecessarily long paths into the analogue signal.
ESS DAC and USB
The ESS ES9080Q DAC works with digital sources and the USB-B input, which supports PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and DSD up to 11.2 MHz. The USB DAC function allows a computer to be connected directly, while optical and coaxial inputs handle players, streamers or other digital sources independently of the network.
YPAO™ R.S.C.
YPAO™ R.S.C. brings to a stereo system the acoustic measurement developed by Yamaha for multichannel installations. The microphone detects speaker behaviour in the room and the system acts on reflections and response; Precision EQ completes calibration with finer adjustment of the resulting balance.
MusicCast and streaming
MusicCast brings together streaming services, network files and multi-room distribution alongside Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and AirPlay 2. Roon Tested compatibility also allows R-N1000A to be used within a verified Roon ecosystem, while the Yamaha app manages network sources together with content coming from the physical inputs.
TV, vinyl and subwoofer
HDMI ARC carries television audio to the Hi-Fi system through a single cable. The phono input handles a turntable, while pre-out and subwoofer outputs expand configuration options; optical, coaxial and analogue inputs complete a connection set designed to coexist with sources from different generations.
Construction and terminals
The speaker terminals are machined from pure brass to provide secure tightening and low contact resistance. Anti-resonance feet dissipate some of the vibrational energy reaching the chassis, complementing the electrical and mechanical measures used in the ToP-ART path to keep reproduction more stable.
