Astell&Kern was born in 1999 with the name iRiver riding the MP3 revolution. In 2001 it debuted with the first portable multi-standard Digital Audio Player, the Slim X, extremely compact in size for its time, while in 2003 it introduced the first DAP with HDD and an output capable of driving most of the headphones on the market.

Notoriety in 2005 when iRiver wins the Innovation Award with the IFP1000 player. In 2012 the manufacturer decided to shed its skin, giving birth to the Astell&Kern brand with the aim of launching a line of high-level and extremely distinctive DAP Digital Audio Players. AK100, and then AK120 and AK240, up to the present day with a truly multifaceted offer able to meet every need. Along with the development of the DAP, Astell&Kern has always added headphones of an adequate level to its catalogue, relying on the know-how of leading manufacturers.

And so the partnership with Beyerdynamic and Jerry Harvey was born, the first for traditional headphones, and the second for intraural ones. There are many models available, refined by A&K and able to suitably match any DAP in the catalogue.
